G.O.A.T.: Greatest of All Time Part 2 Subtitle: The Only One

Updated: Apr 29, 2021

Colossians 1:17-19 NLT

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, [e]16 for through Him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see–such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through Him and for Him. 17 He existed before anything else, and He holds all creation together. 18 Christ is also the head of the church, which is His body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. [f] So He is first in everything.

Who is the G.O.A.T.? If we are to be truly objective and real, there is truly ONLY One who is ETERNALLY SUPERIOR in EVERY aspect of His ETERNAL RIGHTEOUS Character His name is not Ali, Brady or even Jay-Z. His name is Jesus! Today we will continue to celebrate that because of the resurrection, Jesus Christ is the G.O.A.T. And the Only One!!!!

  • The G.O.A.T. has both the unique status of being both “first” and “only” at the same time.

What Jesus Accomplished Through the Resurrection that makes Him

The G.O.A.T. - The First and The Only One at the same time!

#1. The fact that Jesus speaks the truth because He is the Truth!

Mark 8:31 AMPC

31 And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must of necessity suffer many things and be tested and disapproved and rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be put to death, and after three days rise again [from death].

  • The truth about everything Jesus taught depends upon and is proved by His Resurrection.

  • It gives authority to His words.

  • The fact that Christ was raised from the dead is the game changer and is the key to the power of a believer to experience change in their situation.

#2. Jesus broke the power of life-dominating sin.

Romans 6:5-6 NLT

Since we have been united with Him in His death, we will also be raised to life as He was. 6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.

  • Sin has no power over a dead person.

Galatians 2:20 NLT

20 My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

We now live in the power of His resurrection to lift us out of every dead situation that we may face in this life to Honor the G.O.A.T. by living His life in ours!
