Ephesians 1:10-11 NLT 10 And this is the plan: At the right time He will bring everything together under the authority of Christ–everything in heaven and on earth. 11 Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for He chose us in advance, and He makes everything work out according to His plan.
God’s plan has always been to change the earth through the releasing of your personal authority. Many people are afraid, for various reasons, to step out into their personal authority and fulfill the dreams that are within them. You have authority only to make you who you are. Today we will conclude this teaching series as we discover the process of releasing our God-Given Authority and getting back what we gave up by answering the call!
Personal Authority - is the right and the power to be who you were created to be.
When God created you, He automatically gave you not only power but also permission to act out your authority.
God gave you permission to be yourself. That is the extent of your authority. You don’t have authority to make someone else like you or try to make yourself like someone else. (Yellow is for my notes)
Discovering your personal authority starts by finding the truth about you!
John 8:32 NLT And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
Three truths about you that reveals your personal authority.
Truth #1 What is my deepest desire.
Luke 4:42-43 NLT 42 Early the next morning Jesus went out to an isolated place. The crowds searched everywhere for Him, and when they finally found Him, they begged Him not to leave them. 43 But He replied, “I must preach the Good News of the Kingdom of God in other towns, too, because that is why I was sent.”
Desire is not what I like to do, but what I receive confirmation in my spirit that I must do!
Even your gifts were given to be centered around a specific area or theme that reflects God’s specific purpose for you.
Truth #2 What makes me angry, what do I hate!
What bothers you the most is a clue to what you are created to solve!
Psalms 4:4 NLT Don’t sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent.
Anger that is selfishly or rashly motivated is destructive, but anger that is based on a Godly desire for people to be treated right and experience God’s best exposes personal authority.
What is it in life that makes you angry enough to take action on behalf of those who are mistreated, abused, or oppressed?
Truth #3 What thoughts do I have that simply won’t go away!
Read 1 Samuel 3:1-11 NLT
What long-standing vision, idea, or dream is tugging at my heart today?
Is my motivation for doing it positive or selfish?
Am I willing to do it to honor God and build up others?
Keys to answer the call and release my personal authority:
Jeremiah 1:4-10 NLT 4 The Lord gave me this message: 5 “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apartand appointed you as My prophet to the nations.” 6 “O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for You! I’m too young!”
KEY #1 Stop making excuses and acknowledge that God has been talking to me this whole time, and what’s been bothering me, I have been assigned to solve it not criticize it!
7 The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. 8 And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!” 9 Then the Lord reached out and touched my mouth and said, “Look, I have put My words in your mouth! 10 Today I appoint you to stand upagainst nations and kingdoms. Some you must uproot and tear down, destroy and overthrow.Others you must build upand plant.”
KEY #2 Overcome my fear of being great by being great as I obey the call that I HAVE BEEN BORN TO ANSWER!
